<description>Great interview! And I am thrilled that Nicola is now on the Lambda board; I look forward to the changes I know she&#039;ll help bring about.

I do however think that the new guidelines for what is eligible for the Lambdas are quite fuzzy. In fact, the guidelines that were sent out by Tony Valenzuela are so vague as to be useless.

The fact is that nowhere in the announcement does it actually state that one must be a self-identified LGBT author for his or her book to be eligible.

I think that if this is what you prefer for the Lambdas, you need to come right out and say so in plain English. Otherwise publishers and authors will continue to submit great books with queer content that just happen to be written by straight authors (something I have no problem at all with, by the way - great queer writing is great queer writing regardless of the sexuality of the author).

My two cents. =)
